Mobile health (mHealth)

Mobile health, also written mHealth, is the practice of medicine supported by mobile devices. The mobile devices monitor a person’s biological functions, such as heart beat, blood pressure, sleep patterns, etc., and relays them to health facilities if continuous monitoring is needed. Alternatively, a person may use an mHealth device to combine their medical records and their genetic information with the monitoring of their biological functions and link the information to a knowledgebase (link to) in order to receive advice on how to improve their health. BioTime’s LifeMap Solutions subsidiary is supplying such a knowledgebase to companies involved with the development and marketing of mHealth devices.
